FORKLIFT OPERATOR

We are looking for a certified, experienced Forklift Operator to work with our client in Ottawa’s south end.  

Schedule & Wage:  

·       Schedule is full time days, Monday to Friday, from 7:00am to 4:00pm

·       Pay rate ranges from $20.00 to $24.00/hour, based on experience

What the job involves:

  • Operating a forklift as well as other warehouse equipment such as backhoes and pallet lifts, in compliance with load weight and secure load restrictions

  • Loading and unloading shipments, manually and/or with the use of a lift truck

  • Verifying supplier packing slips against actual deliveries, identifying and reporting discrepancies to the Supervisor

  • Verifying and tracking product shipped out of the warehouse, accurately preparing associated documentation in a timely manner

  • Stocking product on shelves in a safe and organized way, notifying the Supervisor when stock levels are low or back-ordered

  • Picking customer orders in a timely, friendly manner

  • Leading cycle and year-end inventory counts

  • Participating in the maintenance of a safe, clean and organized warehouse

What the job requires of you:

  • Forklift certification and at least 1 year of experience

  • Clean criminal record check

  • Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Physical stamina with the ability to lift heavy items on a repetitive basis

  • Ability to communicate politely and professionally, providing exceptional customer service

  • Provide your own CSA-approved steel toe boots
